There are several reasons why this could happen, the two most common are: using really weak passwords or using outdated scripts with widely known weaknesses. In this way, just a single compromised Internet site can do lots of damage to all your Internet sites, since gaining access to one script often allows hackers to access the whole web hosting account. This is the reason why we've developed a brand new security option known as JailHost. Once activated, this option will literally lock an Internet site inside its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other websites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they will be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your websites up-to-date, but it will significantly limit the damage.

JailHost in Website Hosting

If you host your websites inside a website hosting account from our company, you will be able to protect them using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This option is available with all plans and can be enabled for every folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for various sites never get mixed up as it frequently happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you could use scripts which need access to folders outside the main site folder and this option can interfere with their proper functioning, but shielding all of the other folders is very easy. If a protected site gets hacked for some reason, we can restore it in a short time as we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups through Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server solutions and you'll be able to activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not turned on by default because we do not want to prevent some scripts that may need to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You could enable JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done effortlessly even if you have no previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia manages multiple domains - they all have individual folders that can be "locked". In comparison, other well known Control Panels have add-on domains and their content is kept in the primary domain folder, so if a single website is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. In the event that a site is damaged despite your efforts, we will be able to restore it the way it was almost instantly as we will store a couple of daily backup copies of your entire account.
