A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

In case you have a website hosting plan with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific e-mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally just one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single email address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature right away, so all email messages sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notification and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all email mailbox without any difficulty even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you have set up using your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you do not need this feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the same icon.
